　　黃河(the Yellow River)為中國第二大長河，也是世界著名的長河之一。黃河流經(jīng)九個省區(qū)，在中國北方蜿蜒流動。從髙空俯瞰，它非常像一個巨大的“幾”字，又隱約像是我們民族那獨(dú)一無二的圖騰(totem)—龍。由于河流中段流經(jīng)中國黃土高原(Loess Plateau)地區(qū)，因此夾帶了大世的泥沙(sediment),所以它也被認(rèn)為是世界上含沙量最多的河流。在中國歷史上，黃河給人類文明帶來很大的影響，是中華民族最主要的發(fā)祥地之一，因此中國人稱其為“母親河”。

Seen from the sky, it is much like a huge Chinese character “ji” (meaning a few), and it is also a bit like the unique totem of Chinese nation dragon. Since the middle part of the river flows through the Loess Plateauin China, a lot of sediment is carried away. Therefore, it is also considered as the river with the most sediment in the world. In Chinese history, the Yellow River has significant influence on human civilization and it's one of the most important birthplaces of the Chinese nation, so Chinese people call it the "Mother River".
