　　高考，即全國高等教育入學(xué)考試(National HigherEducation Entrance Examination)，是中國大陸最有影響力的考試之一。合格的高中畢業(yè)生和具有同等學(xué)力(educational level)的學(xué)生每年可以參加一次考試。學(xué)生必考的(mandatory)科目為語文、數(shù)學(xué)和外語—通常是英語，不同的省份的考試試卷各不相同。高考非常具有權(quán)威性，幾乎所有大學(xué)都根據(jù)高考分?jǐn)?shù)錄取學(xué)生，因此，很多中國人把高考看作是決定人生的關(guān)鍵事務(wù)。近年來，人們越發(fā)關(guān)注高考體制，提出各種改革高考的建議。專家稱改革高考錄取制度是改革的根本。

The three mandatory subjects are Chinese, Mathematics and foreign language—usually English and the test papers vary from province to province. College entranceexamination is so authoritative that almost all the admissions made by the universities arebased on students' scores in the exam. Therefore, many Chinese regard it as a critical event intheir life. In recent years, people pay more attention to the college entrance examinationsystem and various proposals about its reform have been put forward. Experts claim that thefundamental reform of the examination lies in the university admission system.

　　1.“不同的省份的考試試卷各不相同”這個分句.過直接翻譯成different provinces have different test papers，也可以按參考譯文譯為 the test papers vary from proving toprovince。

　　2.“高考非常具有杈威性，幾乎所有大學(xué)都根據(jù)髙考分?jǐn)?shù)錄取學(xué)生”包含了一定的因果關(guān)系，因此在翻譯時增加了 so...that...的結(jié)構(gòu)，讓兩句自然地銜接起來。

　　3.“高考非常具有權(quán)威性…很多中國人把髙考看作是決定人生的關(guān)鍵事務(wù)”這句很長，前兩個分句因?yàn)槭褂昧藄o... that...的結(jié)構(gòu)來表達(dá)因果關(guān)系，第三個分句“因此…”就很難翻譯到同一句話里了。所以，可以用拆譯的方法，單獨(dú)翻譯第三個分句，用Therefore銜接。

　　4.在翻譯“近年來，人們越發(fā)關(guān)注高考體制，提出各種改革高考的建議”這句話時，可以使用被動語態(tài)，譯成Inrecent years, the college entrance examination system has been paid more attention andvarious proposals about its reform have been put forward;也可以將前半句譯為主動語態(tài)，后跟that引導(dǎo)主語從句。
