　　茅盾是中國最優(yōu)秀的著名現(xiàn)代小說家之一。他最著名的作品是《子夜》 (Midnight)。茅盾還在上小學時就已經(jīng)開始發(fā)展他的寫作技巧。當他在杭州讀中學時，廣泛的閱讀和嚴格的寫作技能培訓充滿了他的生活。期間他讀完了大量的古典小說。這些小說影響了他的寫作風格和創(chuàng)作理念。茅盾于1913年進入北京大學提供的為期三年的基礎學校，在那里他研究了中國和西方文學。

　　2.他讀完了大量的古典小說：“讀完”可用英語常用的結(jié)構(gòu)finish+v-ing。“大量的”因其修飾的為可數(shù)名詞“小說”，故可譯為a large number of�！肮诺湫≌f”可譯為classical novels。

　　3.這些小說影響了他的寫作風格和創(chuàng)作理念：“影響”可譯為動詞influence,也可譯為詞組have the hifluenceon。英語中表示影響的詞語還有名詞effect，動詞affect,詞組have effect on。
